Here's what we get up to every day!
When Children arrive they are welcomed by Mr Cleal and his team of staff, who also work in schools across the county.
Their bag is hung on a peg in our cloakroom and their drink is put on the drinks trolley. They then have a choice of colouring, games and sports equipment to play with, or they can just rest in our calm area where they can chat or read a book.
9am - Welcome time
Register
After helping each other tidy up, children join in with our introduction where the register is taken. Children get to say hello in any language they like and even do a little dance.
Rules
So that we all know what to expect of each other we recap the rules each morning. Children can add their suggestions of other rules that we should include for that day.
Get Ready
Children will then get ready to head to the field, each time we are away from the hall/classroom we all get our outdoor clothes, go to the toilet and collect our water bottle before lining up under the shelter to show we are ready.
Warm up Games
To help break the ice and get our bodies ready for the days activities we play some warm up games suggested by the children. This often includes stuck in the mud, the animal game and other inclusive games using our imaginations!
1030am - Snack Time
Make sure your child brings a filling snack to help them stay energised up to lunch! We recommend breakfast bars, crackers or fruit, but you can pack anything you know they'll eat. We ask you to be mindful of allergies other children may have when packing snacks and lunch.
11am - Outdoor Activities/Crafting
Before lunch children will spend time getting creative and exploring with our activity or craft of the day. On previous days we have made slime, paper plate creations and junk model cars or our activities like reptile handling, campfires and much much more!
Midday - Lunch Time
After they have placed their creations in a safe place to try and collect later in the day, children wash their hands and collect their lunch. Once everyone has finished their lunch, we head to the field (or indoors if the weather is really bad) for choosing time. We have plenty of sports equipment to choose from, our bouncy castles and the adventure playground. This is where any under 5s will be collected from at 1PM.
1PM - Science Garden/Sport
After lunch the children get to explore our science garden with a different focus each day. We love den building, bug hunting and pond dipping amongst lots of other fun play. We also have expert coaches from local sport clubs, they lead great sessions including archery, skateboarding and yoga.
215PM - Cycling
Before the end of the day children will get to ride their bikes on our specially built course that will challenge all abilities. We recommend bringing your own bikes but we doe have a limited supply to share amongst those that aren't able to.
This is where children will be collected at the end of the day!
